November/December Reflection

During the months of November and December many projects were completed, but my favorite was the Photo Story project. Mrs. Barton left the project very open so we were able to work in groups and choose a topic that our pictures would explain. I worked with my friends Tim and Kyle and we chose to explain how our high school is a happy place through our pictures. On the first day of the project we took our pictures well we thought we were taking pictures but instead we were taking videos. In result of having taken videos the day before we were granted another day to take pictures. After we had taken all of the pictures we needed we downloaded them to the computer and made a photo story adding sound. Although this project incorporated creativity in choosing our own topics it also included communication. Throughout the project I communicated with my group members by talking, and Google Docs.
In using photo story for this project I learned how to add sound to a photo story. I thought our photo story was the best because the sound and pictures were connected, it was funny, and makes people smile. I liked this project so much because I was able to work with my friends and use technology other than a computer.

October Reflection

Throughout the month of October my class participated in my favorite project of the month called the Spanish tour. The Spanish tour allowed us to choose three different Spanish speaking countries we wanted to plan trips to. Along with choosing the countries we researched each and found flights, hotels, and interesting facts about the countries. We also researched the history, famous people, official religion, restaurants, and souveniers. Included in the project we created a budget on a spreadsheet. Although the tour was meant for us to become more familiar with Google docs, spreadsheets , and the internet. The essential learning skill taught by the Spanish speaking tour was research fluency and information fluency. The Spanish speaking taught this because we had to find, evaluate, and use digital information.
During the Spanish speaking tour I learned more about Caracas, Venezuela, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Cancun, Mexico. I enjoyed learning about these different countries and I would like to visit them someday. What I thought was the most interesting were the names for buildings and other cites in Spanish. In the end I was happy with my work because it was organized and contained a huge amount of information.

August - September Reflection

My favorite unit in August and September was Google scetch up. In Google scetch up I created a very colorful castle,a Parthenon, a room, and a city. Google scetch up allows you to be creative and use different colors, textures, and shapes. My castle incorporates three textures and more than five different colors. The castle is definitely original I havent ever seen a castle with the designs and colors like mine designed in Google scetch up.

In the Google scetch up unit I learned how to use google scetch up. I improved with using tools within Google scetch up during this unit also. Although I made a Parthenon, a room, and a city I am most proud of my castle because it is the last project I did in google scetch up so I knew how to use the different tools and could put my creativity into it. I am happy with my work, I mean I designed it. Overall I enjoyed using and learning about Google scetch up.
